JOANNA PUSTILNIK RDN
Joanna is a private practice dietitian with 14 years of experience in providing nutrition counseling services to individuals and groups, and 11 years of experience providing these services virtually. She loves connecting with clients 1:1 in a virtual setting where information can be shared freely and comfortably, and sessions can fit easily into a client's life and schedule.
Since 2017, Joanna has been practicing through Bodacious Nutrition, her nationwide online private practice for all things food relationship and women's health, and since 2019, she has also contracted part of her caseload to Mind Body Health, LLC in Arlington, VA to provide medical nutrition therapy to men, women, and children for a variety of health and food relationship concerns.
But in 2024, Joanna felt called to open Post-Divorce Dietitian to support clients following uncoupling or the end of a marriage. Through her years of working with clients from all walks of life and with a variety of health and food relationship concerns, she crystallized around a holistic approach that uniquely addresses the concerns that arise following divorce.
Joanna is a child of divorce, so she is passionate about helping others through this life change. Her parents experienced a particularly high conflict uncoupling, and she is intimately familiar with the difficulty that accompanies the end of a marriage and the impact it can have on everyone involved for years to come. Her desire to work with individuals post-divorce grows from her lived experience but is informed by her work with clients struggling to find self-compassion, sustainable habits, and food and body peace.
Joanna is a Health At Every Size® -aligned clinician who rejects restrictive dieting and promotes a mindful acceptance of our here and now bodies, but she also believes we can work toward health-related and value-symmetric goals through a non-diet and weight neutral lens.
She has expertise and training in motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. She is a supporter of positive psychology and believes we should all work to focus on what is going well. She believes in meeting clients where they are and collaborating to work toward self-compassion and food peace. She believes sustainable self-care is possible and helps create overall resilience and purpose.
Personally, she lives with her husband, 3 young children, and 8-year-old Chorkie, Lady in Arlington, VA. She loves to draw, move her body joyfully with yoga and cycling and weights, cook yummy plant-based meals, go to as many concerts as possible, and ride around on her electric bike to brunches and parks.
